Comvita is recalling the following unexpired batches of Comvita MediHoney Antibacterial Wound Gel (25g and 50g) due to problems with the packaging:

- 2311, 2326, 2328, 2340, 2341, 2345, 2346, 2419, 2433, 2434
Product Name: Comvita Medihoney Antibacterial Wound Gel 50g
Batch Numbers:
- 2326, 2332, 2412, 2422, 2434, 2442
What is the problem?
The packaging may not be sealed properly, meaning the product may no longer be sterile and could cause product to leak.
The following packaging problems have been identified:
- The foil seal inside the tube may not be fully sealed
- The tube seal may be folded, which can create a small gap
What are the risks?
If the packaging of a sterile product is damaged or not working properly, there may be a risk of infection if the product is used on an open wound. It could also lead to delays in treatment if the product cannot be used as intended. There is no long-term health consequences expected due to this problem.
What should I do?
